RESNET WISHES ITS NETWORK A PROSPEROUS 2002!

FEDERAL TAX CREDIT FOR IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF EXISTING HOMES PROPOSED IN HOUSE

Congressman Edward Markey (D-MA) on December 11, 2001, introduced legislation to create a federal income tax credit for improving the energy efficiency of existing homes. The legislation, H.R. 3455 is cosponsored by Randy (Duke) Cunningham (R-CA). The House bill is the companion bill to S. 1709 that was introduced by Senator Robert Smith (R-NH) and Diane Feinstein (D-CA) (see December 2001 issue of RESNET Notes). Both the Markey/Cunningham and the Smith Feinstein bills meets the principles adopted by RESNET to improve the energy efficiency of existing homes. 2002 RESNET CONFERENCE SESSIONS POSTED

The 2002 RESNET Conference will be held at the Florida Solar Energy Center on March 4-6, 2002. The RESNET Conference is the premier national forum on home energy ratings and residential energy efficiency financing.

SPECIAL FEATURE OF 2002 RESNET CONFERENCE WILL BE NATIONAL ROUND TABLE ON RATER TRAINING

A special feature of the 2002 RESNET Conference will be a "How to Produce the Best Raters" - A Round Table on Rater Training. Join the nation's rating training providers in a facilitated round table to explore how to produce the best raters. The session promises to be a lively and fun discussion of what can be. The goal of the session is to help grow a national home energy rater training industry. During the session rater trainers will identify areas where rater students fail and how to improve their performance, what makes the best rater student and how to recruit them, and other areas that will assist rater trainers to produce the best raters. The session will take place on Sunday, March 3 from 1 to 4 p.m.
