efficiency and home performance professionals from across the nation. RESNET has posted the presentations given
at the conference along with the conference attendees. New presentations are being added every

Your Voice Heard on Modifications to the Performance Method of the International
Energy Conservation Code Partially
in response to a letter from RESNET, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)
and the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) (posted on RESNET's web site at http://www.natresnet.org/iecc_doe.htm),
the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has agreed to consider an alternative to
their proposed residential IECC code change. The proposed alternative,
which was written with input from RESNET, NRDC, ACEEE and others, is posted on
the DOE Codes web site as Alternative B. If accepted by DOE, this
alternative could result in significant improvements to the original DOE
proposal (Alternative A) as it would provide for a robust performance compliance
alternative that also could be considered for adoption by RESNET during its
Standards amendment process. DOE is now seeking comments on these
alternative proposals, however, the DOE comment period has only one more week
(until March 7, 2003), and RESNET urges all interested parties to go to the DOE
Codes web site (http://www.energycodes.gov/implement/doe_2004_proposals.stm)
as soon as possible and read and comment on these
alternatives. Join
