Energy Efficiency Tax Credit Not Dead - Talks by Conference Committee Continue

Leaders of the House and Senate are continuing effort to reach a compromise on national energy legislation for this session of Congress.  Congress will soon pass a continuing resolution to keep the government running until November 22, 2002.  It is expected that both houses will reconvene for a "lame duck" session after the elections.  Coming at an agreement on energy policy is one the pieces of legislation that will be focused on.  It is hoped that the partisan heat generated by an election will dissipate after the election and an agreement can be reached.  The Senate Energy Committee's web site keeps an up-to-date commentary on the negotiations and it is very candid.  Click on http://energy.senate.gov often.
